CDs never surfaced during Kumawood's collapse; instead, they ignored me. Koo Agya

Actor Agya Koo, who is well-known in Ghana, claims that his rejection of roles at the time was the reason behind the downfall of the Kumawood industry.

The veteran actor claimed in an interview with Kumasi-based radio station Ezra FM that his exclusion at the time had a negative impact on the entertainment industry, particularly because he is still the most marketable actor in Ghana.

Passionate about the once-thriving Kumawood industry, Agya Koo said that his name was linked to Ghanaian cinema, especially among the diaspora of Ghanaians living abroad, especially in the USA.

He stressed that the question "Is Agya Koo in the cast?" was one that people would nearly always ask when they had questions regarding Ghanaian movies. He maintained up to his dismissal that this proved his unmatched marketability and power at the time.

"They ignored me and now say that the advent of CDs is to blame for the industry's collapse, but that is untrue. But they refuse to acknowledge this reality.

"Agya Koo was always brought up when someone wanted to watch Ghanaian movies, even though I wasn't the only actor doing it at the time." “Why didn’t they ask for the name of someone else?”
