Youth in Atiwa East Sponsor Osei-Asare's Filing Fees, Endorse Her for Another Term in the NPP Primaries

 


Youth groups in Ghana's Atiwa East Constituency have displayed strong support for their Member of Parliament, Abena Osei-Asare. Amid vibrant celebrations, they contributed ¢20,500 towards her filing fees for the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary primaries.This financial backing signals the start of an intense campaign as Osei-Asare vies for a fourth-term re-election. The parliamentary primaries hold significant importance in the NPP's internal elections leading up to the general polls.







Numerous young members expressed their faith in Osei-Asare, who also serves as Ghana's Deputy Finance Minister, citing her as the most suitable candidate to uplift their community and secure victory for the NPP in the upcoming 2024 elections."Her impact is evident. Our MP's initiatives have brought about developmental projects in our area. This support is our commitment; we're confident she'll emerge victorious," one youth emphasized.


"We're fully dedicated to ensuring her success. I've personally benefited from her programs, securing employment through her training initiatives. I'm here to ensure she triumphs in the primaries," another member affirmed.


Abena Osei-Asare claimed the NPP parliamentary seat for Atiwa East in 2012 and retained it in the 2016 elections, securing a substantial majority. Actively engaged in Parliament, she has contributed to various committees, notably Finance, Public Accounts, Employment, Social Welfare, and State Enterprises.









Her tenure as a deputy minister in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning began at 38 in 2017, making her the youngest woman to hold such a position.
