Adutwum declares his readiness to be Bawumia's running partner, saying, "I'm here to serve."

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the minister of education, has publicly said that he is willing to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP, as his running partner in the 2024 elections.

The Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe declared on Tuesday, January 9, on the Citi Breakfast Show that he is always willing to lend his support to Ghana anytime needed.

Dr. Adutwum declared, "I am here to serve my nation; in any capacity I find myself, I will serve this nation."

Notable figures have emerged in the contest for Dr. Bawumia's running partner in the next general elections, including MP for Suame Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu and Energy Minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh.

In December of last year, the NPP deviated from its custom and gave Dr. Bawumia more time to choose his running mate.

With the power to deviate from party guidelines, the National Council of the party decided to forgo the prerequisite of selecting the vice-presidential candidate a year ahead of time.

With this choice, Dr. Bawumia will have more time to thoroughly weigh his alternatives and choose the best person to be his running partner.
