Details: GFA relocates the Black Stars' training camp from South Africa to Kumasi for AFCON 2023.

The Ghana Football Association would like to inform that it has rescheduled the Black Stars' camp in South Africa before to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, after a review meeting between the Management & Technical Team.

A training camp was originally supposed to commence for Ghana on Sunday, December 31, 2023, and run for ten days, leading up to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Tournament in Cote D'Ivoire. The squad will now camp in Kumasi starting on Tuesday, January 2, 2023, as a result of the decision.

The FIFA has canceled the team's international friendly against Botswana that was supposed to take place in Johannesburg on Monday, January 8, 2023. As part of the preparation for the Abidjan tournament, the FA is currently looking for a new opponent.

The hotel will be closed to the general public and the media as the Association respects the Black Stars Technical Team's desire for a calm and peaceful camping environment.

Once more, the training sessions are going to be private and inaccessible to the media and general public.

Still, the group will set up a meeting with the press. The public is welcome to attend the friendly match, which will be followed by a press conference with the media.

In order to guarantee that the goals of the Technical Team of the Black Stars during the camping time in Kumasi are met, the Association asks for public understanding and support.

Ghana is placed in Group B with Mozambique, Cape Verde, and Egypt, three formidable nations.

On Sunday, January 14, the Black Stars will play their first game of the season against Cape Verde. On January 18, they will play Egypt, the current record holder, and on January 22, they will play Mozambique in the other Group B match.
