In an effort to support fair treatment for these agents, the presidents of Ghana's for Mobile Money Agents Associations have made a significant decision that will go into effect on December 1, 2023.
With effect from now on, customers' cash withdrawal limits will be GHC $1,000.00 per transaction.
Apart from offering fair compensation to the diligent agents who are vital to the Mobile Money system, this plan also attempts to resolve issues with commission reviews.
The upshot of continued communication between the organizations and service providers to ensure that Mobile Money Agents are fairly compensated for their work is the change.
The short-term solution is seen as an intentional strategy to draw up the value of the problem and promote a prompt and advantageous modification of commission structures.
During this one-month period, the leadership of the Mobile Money Agents Associations intends to be actively involved with service providers in order to address the issues raised and work together towards a fair resolution.
The intention is to create an atmosphere where Mobile Money Agents' contributions are duly acknowledged and valued, in keeping with their status in the financial services industry.
