An NPP youth wing has urged Kennedy Agyapong to run as an independent candidate in Ghana's presidential elections in 2024.
Supporters of Kennedy Agyapong believe it is preferable for the Assin Fosu NPP to win the presidential elections on an independent candidate than for the NDC to defeat the NPP's Bawumia in the 2024 elections for John Mahama to remain president.
Given the foregoing, the group has strongly requested Kennedy to accept their request despite making an agreement not to leave the NPP before of the NPP presidential primaries.
According to the organisation, only Kennedy Agyapong has the support of NPP members and other floaters in the country.
Naana Ocran, the group's national secretary, stated on Kessben FM's Breaking News with Kwasi Ntiamoah that without Kennedy, most NPP sympathisers and floating voters would not vote in the 2024 elections, resulting in the NDC winning the 2024 presidential elections.
