The Chamber of Automobile Dealership Ghana (CADEG) has praised the role of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, Chief of Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), among others, in advocating for and obtaining the suspension of the import restriction regulation.

The Chamber attributed the suspension of the Import Restrictions Constitutional Instrument (CI) to collaborative efforts and instrumental support in fostering an informed dialogue with key stakeholders in a joint statement signed by Nana Adu Bonsu Agyekum, President of CADEG, and Mr Eddie Kusi Ankomah, National Chairman.

"Your devotion to our shared cause has been instrumental in promoting a collaborative and informed dialogue with key stakeholders, including policymakers and government officials," the statement said.

The statement noted that the decision represented not just the government's responsiveness, but also its commitment to participate in a comprehensive and inclusive decision-making process.

"The Bill's suspension is a testament to the effectiveness of our collective efforts and the strength of our advocacy, which is supported by your organisation." "Your commitment to ensuring that the automobile industry's concerns were heard and considered throughout the process has significantly contributed to the positive outcome we've achieved," the message said again.

It also stated: "As we continue to work towards well-balanced and sustainable importation policies, we recognise and appreciate the pivotal role you have played in this journey" .

"Your support has been crucial in upholding the interests of the industry and promoting fair and equitable trade opportunities," the group stated in a statement.

Collaboration

CADEG also looked forward to the government's continuing participation and collaboration as it faced future challenges and possibilities in the car industry.

According to the statement, they may work together to promote policies that support the growth and sustainability of their business and the Ghanaian economy.

"We are grateful to your organisation for your unwavering support and commitment to the success of CADEG's advocacy initiatives, and we value our partnership," it said. We'd like to thank you again for your contribution to the attainment of our objective.
